I stare blankly at the screen,

My fingers poised to type,

My thoughts a jumbled mess.

I try to message you eight times,

But always delete the words.

How can I tell you how I feel?

I love you so much my chest aches,

My heart pounding, racing,

Skipping a beat every time you’re near.

My heart stops altogether when you kiss me

And I forget how to breathe.

Light-headed, dizzy,

I drink you in, lips melding as one.

I try to tell you how much I need you,

But my words won’t cooperate.

I don’t know how to compose my thoughts,

Yet somehow you understand.
